As we are nearing the end of the school year,
we thought it would be a great opportunity to
reflect on the extra activities that we explored
with our students.
For us, providing the students with extra opportunites, has many positive outcomes such as:
- Providing students with meaningful, authentic learning opportunities, to enhance learning and creativity
- Develop community and working relationships
- Enhance curricular learning outcomes
- Promote social skills through engaged participation
- And many more little benefits based on each individual
At NBCDES, we tried to provide a variety of activities to meet each of our students' interests and learning needs. Some of the activities we explored this year, include:
- Open House BBQ and Games
- Drop in PE on Wednesday Afternoons
- Halloween Activity Afternoon
- Online Remembrance Day Celebration (students shared)
- Bones and Archeology: 2 Separate Presentations
- Collaborative Christmas Story
- Skating at Pomeroy Center: Once a Month during Winter Months
- Christmas Activity Afternoon
- Attended the Nutcracker Dance Performance
- Attended the Pirates of Penzance Perfromance
- Bowling Afternoon
- Art with Eliza Stanford: Wire Art
- Art with Barb Daley: Art Journaling
- All Green Activity Day
- Science Fair
- Badminton Tournament
- Track and Field Team/Meet
- Up Coming Year End Activity Afternoon
- Blogging Every Monday
- Anything We May Have Forgot To List :)
